To provide a little contrast to my post from yesterday, not all ladies wearing pants in the Victorian era in England were gallivanting about on bicycles, faces aglow with the novelty of bloomers. The Pit Brow Lasses of Wigan were also wearing pants — so they could perform various duties around coal mines in Wigan. You can read an account of them from 1910 here.
